The Epic Games Store has launched a new mobile application for mobile devices that can be downloaded on Android and iOS systems. The digital games storefront is available for Windows PCs and macOS systems, both as a website and as a standalone launcher. After some lengthy legal battles, the Epic Games Store mobile app is available and offers a variety of titles that can be played on mobile devices.

The legal battle between Epic Games’ Apple and Google is quite lengthy and started back in 2020. So much so that Epic lost a lot of money on legal fees, but this has paved the way for them to launch the Epic Games Store app and offer their games to iOS users in the European Union. This app is available to download now and includes a number of different games designed specifically for mobile.

A senior Epic Games official estimates how much money the company has spent and lost in the fight against Apple and Google’s app store policies.

With the launch of the Epic Games Store app, players will gain access to first-party titles, including Autumn Boys, FortniteAnd Rocket League dig. Fortnite has just launched the fourth season of Chapter 5, which sees Marvel Comics’ big bad Dr. Doom take on other superheroes like Shuri, War Machine, and Gwenpool. While the Epic Games Store is available on mobile in countries that are part of the EU due to the Digital Markets Act, Epic also claims that Apple continues to deny access to other iOS users outside of Europe Fortnite and Epic Games Store on iOS.

Epic Games, Apple and Google still disagree

Epic Games points out that installing the Epic Games Store app across iOS and Android is a lengthy process, as the installation experiences are allegedly “intentionally inferior” to discourage players from downloading the apps. Epic Games continues its legal battle with Apple and Google to settle the anti-competitive terms of both companies. In the meantime, Epic Games is also working with other third-party app stores to bring its games to the mobile market.

Third-party stores Epic works with include AltStore PAL and Aptoide for iOS users, and ONE Store for Android. Commenting on the ongoing legal battle between Epic and Google, Tim Sweeny, CEO and founder of Epic Games, said he was grateful to the European Commission for allowing the launch of the Epic Games Store and giving iOS and Android users the ability to play games on mobile through the store, while the market for PC and Mac has always been open.
