New family business opens in Terrace Heights

New family business opens in Terrace Heights

YAKIMA – Terrace Heights has a new retail store, bringing Helms True Value Hardware to the neighborhood beginning August 20.

The store is a new construction on Butterfield Road at Terrace Heights Drive and complements the existing store in Selah that has served the Yakima community for 55 years. KIMA Action News had the opportunity to speak with family owners Brad and Kyle Helms as they prepared to open the new store.

Kyle told us, “We are a full-service home improvement store and hope to have everything you need to complete a project from start to finish in one place.”

The store spans 1,858 square feet and offers everything a home or business needs for small and large jobs around the home and garden, as well as full-scale construction and renovation projects. It’s a full-service store with 20 employees that sells lumber, concrete, sand, bark, paint and equipment, but also all the small parts needed for any project, like screws and bolts, as well as indoor and outdoor plants and garden supplies. Brad Helms explained to Action News why they chose Terrace Heights as their new location: “Well, we were looking for a place to expand and open a new store, and this location was just good. We had the opportunity to buy some property, and I think this is just going to be a good opportunity for us.”

The Helms True Value Store will open next Tuesday, August 20th at 7:00 a.m. and will be open seven days a week.
