Man shot in Tacony Creek Park, police say – NBC10 Philadelphia

A man is dead after being shot in Tacony Creek Park Friday night, a Philadelphia police spokesman said.

Police said officers were called to the 700 block of East Olney Avenue shortly after 7:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting on August 16.

A man in his mid-twenties was wounded by several shots in the chest and upper body, police said.

Paramedics took the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 8 p.m., officials said.

SkyForce10 was over the scene Friday evening. Two marked police cars with their blue lights on could be seen blocking the intersection leading to the park.

A third police car was visible, its headlights shining into the park.

The crime scene is being monitored while officers investigate. No weapon has been found and no one has been arrested.
