Should you buy the 2022 iPad Air in 2024? Definitely not if you can afford either of this year’s two much-improved models. But if you can’t, or you just don’t want to spend more than $500 on what is undoubtedly one of the best tablets currently available, you should probably check out Walmart’s latest deal on the previous-generation 10.9-inch device.
This device used to cost at least $599, although in the spirit of full disclosure we should mention that that hasn’t been the case for quite some time. Instead, major US retailers like Walmart, Amazon, and Best Buy have sold the iPad Air (2022) several times in recent months with discounts of $100, $150, and yes, $200 on an entry-level variant with 64GB of storage, giving bargain hunters plenty of opportunities to save big before the two-year-old device is discontinued.
That said, $200 discounts are a rare find and usually disappear extremely quickly after they show up at one or more of the above retailers. Currently, Walmart is the only one charging $399 for a fifth-generation iPad Air in a single purple colorway, which strongly suggests you only have a few hours (at most) left to snag this exceptional deal before it inevitably disappears (possibly forever).
