Exploration Place has a new amphitheater right outside its downtown Wichita location, near the iconic Keeper of the Plains. The best part is that they’re showing a FREE movie series called RiverFlix. The outdoor theater will show the FREE movies under the stars at the Wichita Foundation Amphitheater.
This is the perfect way to spend quality time with your loved ones without spending a dime! I can just imagine my family sitting on a blanket by the Arkansas River, Keeper of the Plains playing in the background, enjoying a family-friendly movie.
Exploration Place is Wichita’s Science and Discovery Center, one of our city’s biggest attractions.
What you need to know about outdoor filming at Exploration Place:
- Seating
- Since you will be sitting on grass in the theater, I recommend bringing a blanket or pillow.
- There is very limited space for lawn chairs around the amphitheater, so you may not be able to set up your own chair. If you want a lawn chair, I’ll come early.
- The gates open at 6:30 am.
- You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks, we think that’s great!
- This is a fantastic way to keep the cost down on a family night out. A free movie and the convenience of enjoying the food you already have – there’s no better or cheaper way to spend a fun night! - Alcohol is not permitted.
- Food trucks will be available from 6:30 p.m.
- The films start around 7:30 p.m.
- No registration is required.
