Area closures and limited services due to wildfires
Status of forest fires.
There are still many areas of fire activity in Jasper National Park. These areas will need to be assessed for safety after the fire is extinguished. Many risks remain in closed areas, such as ash pits, poor air quality, dangerous trees and hazardous waste that need to be contained. It will be some time before these areas can be reopened.
Parks Canada reservations in Jasper National Park made on or after July 23 with a check-out date on or before September 3 will be automatically cancelled and fully refunded.
Due to increased wildfire activity, Jasper National Park is currently closed. All upcoming camping reservations with a departure date on or before Tuesday, September 3, 2024 will be cancelled. Full refund will be deployed automatically, but please be patient, there will likely be delays.
No further action is required by visitors for these cancellations and refunds. There is currently no estimated date for reopening and further instructions will follow as the situation evolves.
