IRVing has grown exponentially in recent years – especially with the long-awaited completion of the Las Colinas Urban Center (development began in the 1970s). The area now features the Toyota Music Factory, the Mandalay Canals and a number of vibrant new restaurants, in addition to the area’s already vibrant international dining scene.

Located inside The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas (formerly the Four Seasons Resort), Chef John Tesar’s new Italian steakhouse is a must-visit when in Irving. An offshoot of the Michelin-starred chef’s very good restaurant Knife, the Italian version serves oysters, raw, homemade pastas, steaks and more. Interiors are by Schoos Design and the space features palm trees, magenta couches and original artwork by Thomas Schoos.

This popular Irving restaurant was founded in 2012 by twin chefs Sam and Wassim Merched. The brothers worked for years in their family’s award-winning restaurants before deciding to open their own Mediterranean eatery. Andalous serves dips, handmade breads, charcoal-cooked kebabs, brick-baked pies, salads and sandwiches. The restaurant’s most popular dishes include the grilled lamb shank, Andalous chicken, roasted cauliflower and Greek salad. Authentic dishes like spanakopita and fattoush come from Greece and Lebanon.

Since 2010, this popular empanadas shop has been serving Latin American and Argentinian cuisine. It’s a fast-casual restaurant owned by Raul Gordon, a Buenos Aires native, and serves some of the best empanadas in the city. Gordon coined the name Empa Mundo, which means “empanadas from around the world.” The menu features 13 empanadas options, from sweet to savory.

Since 2018, this Mexican restaurant with a healthy twist has been serving great, authentic dishes in Las Colinas. Founded by Hugo Miranda, the concept is known for its “skinny” bar—that is, all cocktails are made with agave instead of sugar, organic liquors, and fresh fruit. As for food, don’t miss the pork belly chicharrón appetizer, the chipotle shrimp tacos, and the Wagyu carne asada.

This upscale Las Colinas restaurant was only a year old at the time and was set to close in 1985 before Fran Lively bought the restaurant. Since then, Via Reál has remained a popular concept for its relaxed Southwestern and Mexican cuisine. Fajitas, enchiladas and filet mignon are the dishes to try here.

This upscale Indian eatery is a must-visit for its stylish atmosphere and incredible dishes. Opened by Sanjay Joshi and Probodh Arora (Saffron House), Sanjh was designed by ID 4 Studio. The modern space is decorated in neutral colors, highlighted by warm tones of satin brass and marble stone. A golden tree serves as the focal point of the dining room. To create the menu, the Sanjh team enlisted chef Balpreet Singh Chadha, who recently landed a spot on Condé Nast Traveller‘s list of 40 Under 40: India’s Most Exciting Young Chefs 2023.

This southwestern restaurant and live music venue has been a Las Colinas staple since 2009. The ranch serves locally sourced foods like honey from Alvin, wild boar from Devine and crab from Galveston. Popular items on the menu include chicken-fried steak, elk tacos and prime rib. Don’t miss the Route 66 pecan pie with vanilla ice cream from Henry’s of Plano for dessert.

This San Angelo gastropub is a popular spot in Las Colinas for grilled meats, sandwiches, wood-fired pizza, and wine. Start with the bacon-and-egg stuffed eggs, and don’t miss the double-cut pork chop or crispy chicken sandwich for mains. The restaurant also has a great cocktail menu, including an alcoholic twist on the Georgia Peach Tea.

Opened in 2022 by the Lamberti family, Monaco is a French Riviera-inspired eatery on Water Street in Irving. The menu features dishes like smoked beef tartare, mussels, pizza, steak, handmade pasta and more.

The restaurant also has a wine club where members receive a 15 percent discount on the entire wine list (to be consumed in the restaurant or to take away).

Pacific Table, a premier seafood restaurant in Las Colinas, was originally founded in Fort Worth. The newer Irving location offers the same menu of fresh seafood from the Pacific Northwest. Inside the restaurant, you’ll find a great miso salmon dish, spicy jumbo shrimp, and fried oysters. There’s also a full sushi and oyster menu.
