Radioactive material was discovered in the cargo area of ​​Lucknow’s Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, prompting an immediate response from the disaster management authority. The material, reportedly found during routine checks, led to heightened security measures and a thorough inspection of the premises. Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade, National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), are currently handling the situation.

“The National Disaster Management Force was called to determine the cause of the alarm. There was no threat to life or injury. Airport operations were not affected,” the airport said in a statement.

The leak came from the packaging of a fluorine-containing drug. Efforts are currently underway to contain the leak and ensure safety.
