Mega Millions ticket worth  million sold in New Jersey store – jackpot rises to 8 million

Somewhere in New Jersey, a Mega Millions second-prize ticket worth $1 million was sold for Friday night’s big lottery drawing, with the jackpot rising to nearly half a billion dollars without a major winner last night.

The second-prize ticket had five of the winning numbers but not the Mega Ball number, according to the official Mega Millions website. Another second-prize ticket was sold in California.

The winning numbers for Mega Millions on Friday night were 22, 38, 48, 51 And 61. The drawn Mega Ball was 5, with a Megaplier from 3-fold.

No one won the $465 million jackpot, bringing the estimated top prize for Tuesday’s drawing to $498 million, plus a cash payout valued at $245.3 million.

Information about the city or store where the million-dollar ticket was sold in New Jersey was not immediately available Saturday morning.

Saturday night’s Powerball jackpot is now estimated at $35 million.
