The Epic Games Store is now accessible via mobile

A few years ago, the popular title from Epic Games Fortnite was removed from the App Store and Google Play Store because it attempted to bypass the companies’ payment system for purchasing the in-game currency V-Bucks. Epic Games fought a long legal battle against the tech giants and is now seeing results.

The company had announced plans to bring its digital store to mobile devices via the App Store and Google Play. In a sudden and surprising revelation, the company has now officially launched the Epic Games Store for Android and iOS devices, bringing the popular Epic titles with it.

Epic Games announced this via a Press release and said that the Epic Games Store can be downloaded on Android devices around the world, while it is only available to iPhone users in the European Union. It also acknowledged the Digital Markets Act, which allows the launch of the store in the EU.

However, it was said that “Apple continues to block all other iOS users outside of Europe from accessing Fortnite and the Epic Games Store for iOS.” The company also provided users with step-by-step instructions on how to download the store for both devices.

The users who need help downloading can contact them. Epic also said that the process to install the storefront on both iOS and Android devices is lengthy “because Apple and Google intentionally introduce inferior installation experiences.”

This is due to many unnecessary steps, complex device settings and fear screens. Epic said it continues to fight in court and work with regulators to “Eliminate the anti-competitive conditions that Apple and Google impose on developers and consumers so we can build a better store for everyone.”
