Tony Khan looks back on his meeting with Shane McMahon.
Shane McMahon recently met with AEW CEO Tony Khan to discuss options for the way forward. Shortly after, a photo of the meeting leaked out.
While speaking to the Dan Le Batard Show, Tony Khan reflected on the meeting.
“That was the first time we met,” he said.
Tony discussed how the photo became public and expressed his own theory that a person “accidentally” walked into his meeting with McMahon.
“I think someone who works at the airport. We were just chatting in the airport lounge and having a really nice conversation, as the photo proves, and then someone came in as if he was on the phone, said ‘Oops, sorry,’ and then walked away. I think that was probably it. It wasn’t that smooth. Also, it’s not a top secret thing. I wanted to have a nice chat with him. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about him. We have a lot of mutual friends. We were both in Dallas, they said, ‘You should meet,’ so we met at the airport and it was a nice chat. I thought he was a very respectful and respectable person and someone I really enjoyed talking to.”
