BUFFALO GROVE, IL — A man was found dead in a car in the parking lot of Woodman’s Food Market on Saturday afternoon. Firefighters and police were on the scene for more than three hours after the discovery.
Police said the identification of the deceased would be withheld until next of kin were notified.
At approximately 2:57 p.m., Buffalo Grove Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene to check the condition of a vehicle that contained a person and emitted a foul odor.

When police arrived, they found the man in a blue Chevrolet Equinox at the south end of the parking lot. Emergency responders confirmed the man was dead. Police said there was no danger to the public at any time. The crime scene has since been cleared.
The Lake County Coroner, who will conduct an inquest into the deceased, has been called to the scene.
