Break-in at Hudson tobacco shop ends with arrest of three teenagers – The Shrewsbury Post

Early Saturday morning, August 17, Hudson Police received a report of a burglar alarm at DAB Smoke Shop, located at 234 Washington Street in Hudson. When officers arrived on the scene, they found that the front entrance to the store had been smashed in, presumably by a vehicle backing into the building.

Following the incident, Hudson Police issued an alert to surrounding police departments to be on the lookout for a vehicle with damage consistent with the break-in. Shortly thereafter, a Marlborough Police Officer observed a vehicle matching the description and initiated a stop with the assistance of a Massachusetts State Trooper.

The subsequent investigation led to the arrest of three juveniles: a 15-year-old boy from Boston, a 16-year-old boy from Quincy and a 17-year-old boy from Danvers. Merchandise allegedly stolen from the DAB Smoke Shop was found in the vehicle.

The vehicle involved was impounded. Two of the suspects were held on bail, while the third was released to his legal guardians. The teens will be arraigned in Framingham Juvenile Court in the next few days.

In a statement on the incident, Hudson Police Chief Richard P. DiPersio said: “This is an example of tough police work and is intended to send a message that break-ins and thefts will not be tolerated in our local businesses.”
