Bebe Rexha recently shared an emotional video on Instagram in which she claims she was “threatened” by a security guard at Munich airport because she speaks Albanian.

She stated that she was denied boarding her Lufthansa flight after asking the employee for help in Albanian.

In the video, the 34-year-old singer can be seen crying and declaring: “The Lufthansa flight attendant is threatening me.”

Rexha then turned to someone outside the camera’s view and apologized, saying, “I’m sorry,” before adding, “You’re threatening me…”

She captioned the video clip with a message saying: “I was threatened because I thought the security guard was Albanian. I spoke to him in Albanian and asked where I could get my ticket and now he is not allowing me to board the flight.”

In another post on her IG stories, Rexha noted that she believes the incident was a “hate crime” and also criticized the female staff at the airport for not helping her.

“I believe this is a hate crime because I am Albanian,” Rexha wrote. “He wouldn’t let me take his name. He continued to psychologically abuse me to make me feel like he was more powerful than he was.”

Rexha’s encounter with the security guard came just a month after she declared in a series of heated tweets that she was “fed up” with the music industry.

The four-time Grammy nominee claimed that her information, which she has not yet disclosed, “could ruin a large part of this industry.”

“I have been UNDERMINED,” she wrote. “I have stayed silent for so long and ignored the signs that were so obvious, even though people have pointed them out.” She added, “When I have spoken out, I have been silenced and punished by this industry. Things need to change or I will expose all of my truths – the good, the bad and the ugly.”

The “Say My Name” singer later clarified that her previous post was not made solely out of anger.

In another interaction, a fan noted, “No one should be forgiven for removing your name from ‘Hey Mama,'” referring to the 2015 David Guetta song “Hey Mama,” which Rexha co-wrote with Guetta and others.

At that time, Rexha revealed Billboard that, despite being credited as a co-writer, she was not initially listed as a vocalist on the track featuring Nicki Minaj and Afrojack – a situation that was particularly frustrating for her, given the challenges she had already faced in the music industry.

“I was keen to be on it because I’d signed one contract and then been dropped and now I’ve signed a second one. So it wasn’t easy,” she said. “In the end it looked like there were a lot of names on the cover so they wanted to keep as many low-profile features as possible. That’s what I was told and it makes sense to me. I guess more than two names (featured) doesn’t do well on the radio.”

In a now-deleted Instagram story from June, Rexha took a swipe at rapper G-Eazy, calling him a “stuck up, ungrateful loser” and hinting that she might expose all the “shitty things you did and how you treated me after I gave you your only real hit.”

Accordingly ForbesRexha shared a screenshot of messages from her team asking if she would consider collaborating on social media content with G-Eazy. The messages ask her to tag the rapper, tell him he has her number, and bluntly state, “(By the way), the answer is no.”

Rexha later revealed on X (formerly Twitter) that her team had advised her to delete the post, explaining that she reacted that way due to “trauma.” However, she expressed regret for deleting the post and stressed that she “still stands by what (she) said.”
