According to the CPD’s Facebook post, the shooting occurred around 11:53 p.m. Saturday night. Columbia police have announced that they have arrested 36-year-old Alexis Gonzalez. Gonzalez, who lives in Columbia, faces charges of first-degree assault, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

Police said they found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived at the scene. Officers administered first aid until emergency personnel arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. Columbia Police have not released the extent of the victim’s injuries, but our news partner KMIZ reports he was critically injured.

An employee of a nearby business in Nifong told 939 the Eagle she saw 22 police vehicles at or near Buffalo Wild Wings after the shooting. 939 the Eagle went to the restaurant Sunday afternoon and a sign on the front door says it is closed today.

One of the men inside the Buffalo Wild Wings at the time of the shooting was Mizzou student Aidan Whiting. He told KMIZ that he and others were inside watching a UFC fight when he saw someone walking or running toward the side door. He thought it was a fight until he heard gunshots.
