Creator of “Very Demut” plans transition with meme money

Social media beauty influencer Jools Lebron, who created the “very elegant, very understated” trend now worn by everyone from the White House to celebs such as Jenna Ortega, Jennifer Lopez and Penn Badgley, said the sudden success that came with the trend meant she could now fund her gender reassignment surgery.

In a video last week, LeBron shot back at a hater, saying, “Hey, Bandeja, maybe you should – maybe you should do the videos. Maybe you should do the videos, because one day I was playing cashier on my break and making videos, and now I’m flying across the country hosting events, and I’m going to be able to fund the rest of my transition.”

LeBron has since hosted events in New York and Los Angeles, while celebrities across the spectrum have picked up on her “low-key” trend following her original video, which she posted earlier this month.

On Friday, the White House jumped on the “modest” bandwagon, captioning a photo of President Biden smiling with the words, “Cancel the student debt of nearly 5 million Americans through a variety of measures. Very mindful. Very modest.”

Reese Witherspoon mentioned the trend the same day in an Instagram post about the fourth season of “The Morning Show,” captioning a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos, “Season 4, very low key.”

Jennifer Lopez also described herself as “very low key” and “very mindful” as she drank from a bottle of her Delola brand cocktail in a video posted to Instagram. We’re not sure if using the trend to promote your alcohol brand is really “low key,” but sure.

Penn Badgley described his last day in the role of obsessed serial killer Joe in the Netflix series “You” as “very low-key, very sensitive.”

Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis embraced the trend while filming their “Freaky Friday” sequel. In a video shared on Instagram, Lohan said, “Straight hair, very low key,” before the camera panned to Curtis tugging on her seatbelt and adding, “Buckle up, very mindful.”
