Cozy Hudson Valley restaurant voted “best bathroom” is for sale

A beautiful Hudson Valley restaurant, voted the restaurant with the “best bathroom,” is now for sale.

Many restaurants don’t want to be seen as a place to relieve oneself, but one Hudson Valley restaurant has relied on its honor to have a spectacular restroom. Unfortunately, it seems that a restaurant cannot survive on the reputation of its restroom alone.

While many new and exciting shops and restaurants are opening throughout the Hudson Valley, there are also those that have been around for decades and are now being passed on to new owners. We told you about one of the last “old” shops in Beacon, New York, that is closing its doors next week. And now another beautiful Hudson Valley restaurant has just been put up for sale.

Winner of Best Bathroom for Sale in Ulster County, New York

After enjoying dining there for over three decades, owner Linda Bradford jumped at the chance to purchase the Stone House Tavern in Accord, New York. Under her leadership, the restaurant has undergone extensive renovations and modernizations and is now one of the most comfortable restaurants in the Hudson Valley.

But what makes the Stone House Tavern famous isn’t its food or its atmosphere. It’s the bathroom. There’s an outhouse in the back with two separate restrooms. A plaque on the building proudly proclaims that it was voted “Best Outdoor Bathroom in Ulster County” by Harvest House.

This spectacular toilet is called “Al’s Potty,” obviously a reference to Bradford’s husband.

In addition to the bathroom, the entire restaurant building and three rental apartments are also included in the sale. The entire 5.7-hectare property is currently being offered for $1.3 million.
