The outraged owner of an optician’s shop in Valencia speaks out after being the victim of thefts on two consecutive days over the weekend.

Dr. Gavineh Nersiyan, the owner of OPTIX Optometry, says the first break-in occurred around 2 p.m. on Friday when the man, wearing a white T-shirt, hat and shoes with jeans, entered the store to make an appointment.

As he left the store at 24300 Town Center Drive, he walked up to one of the shelves displaying eyeglasses, grabbed several pairs of designer glasses, and then ran out the door.

The very next day, the man entered the store in what appeared to be exactly the same outfit. But instead of going to the reception, he simply grabbed a pair of glasses and sprinted through the door.

“It’s unfortunate that this type of crime happens so easily,” Nersiyan said. “It no longer feels like a very safe environment and it changes the way we’re going to operate in this office.”

Both incidents were recorded on surveillance camera footage in the store. The man’s face and clothing were clearly visible during both thefts.

She said she plans to file a report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as soon as possible.
