Dave’s Hot Chicken continues MA expansion: MA Food Week

MASSACHUSETTS – Welcome to Patch’s weekly roundup of Massachusetts food and restaurant news, where we discuss openings, closings and more in the state’s dining scene.

This week, we learned that Dave’s Hot Chicken — which bills itself as “America’s fastest-growing restaurant chain” — has applied for a license to operate a restaurant at 41 Park Avenue in Worcester, according to this week’s licensing commission agenda. The address is Trolley Square Plaza, between Park and Grove streets.

Dave’s may also be the fastest-growing restaurant chain in Massachusetts. In the past year, the chain has opened restaurants in Framingham and Braintree, but has seven other locations in the state in Boston (Dorchester and Chinatown), Saugus, Chelmsford, Woburn, Newton and Medford.

Dine Out Boston Deals at Pink Taco

“Dine Out Boston” runs through August 17th, and many restaurants are offering special deals in parallel with this long-standing promotion.

These include Pink Taco, the aptly named Mexican street food joint on Congress Avenue, which offers a two-course lunch menu from noon to 3 p.m. with free chips and salsa.

For the first course, guests can choose from chicken taquitos with avocado salsa, guacamole or grilled street corn. For the main course, guests can choose from carne asada enchiladas, a traditional burrito with pinto beans, Mexican rice, chipotle mayo, pico de gallo and jack cheese, a chicken quesadilla or a selection of tacos including “The OG Pink Tacos” with chicken tinga, jack cheese, shredded romaine lettuce, avocado salsa, pickled red onion, deep fried in a pink corn tortilla.

From 3 p.m. to closing, the $36 Dine Out Boston dinner menu expands its lunch offerings to include a third dessert course, where guests can choose between the restaurant’s signature Pink Fried Ice Cream with Fruity Pebbles, a twist on the Choco Taco or a Tres Leches Churro. Cocktail pairings are also created for the food pairing, but are optional with the meal.
