Frame and Flash Studio offers rental space for photography and videography

Frame and Flash Studio is one of the first of its kind in Owensboro, offering photographers, videographers and content creators the opportunity to rent professional studio space.

Owned by fiancés Mary Loewe and Nick Gray, the studio aims to fill a gap in the local creative community by providing access to a fully equipped indoor recording environment.

“We’re a rental studio aimed primarily at photographers and videographers, but we’re also open to content creators and amateurs who are interested in trying out a studio,” Loewe said. “It’s more common in larger cities, but it hasn’t really been done in Owensboro yet.”

Frame and Flash offers a wide range of equipment and props including backdrops, sets, lighting equipment, and cameras and lenses for those who don’t own professional equipment.

“We want to be accessible to everyone, whether they are just starting out or a seasoned professional who needs a place to shoot,” Gray added.

The studio also plans to offer consulting services for newbies who may need guidance.

“We want people to feel comfortable and be able to fully exploit the potential of the devices,” said Loewe. “Eventually we want to offer courses, group meetings and more formal consultations.”

Frame and Flash Studio has already attracted a diverse clientele, including small businesses working on their branding efforts as well as local musicians and artists. The studio’s versatility allows it to meet various creative needs, from product photography to full-scale video production.

Gray, an Owensboro native with 10 years of media experience, and Loewe, who recently returned to the area after working as a psychological counselor in Chicago, came up with the idea for Frame and Flash about a year ago.

“I’ve always wanted a place like this where I can set up and shoot anything without having to use my apartment,” Gray said. “We saw a need and decided to create a solution.”

Loewe, who has a background in film photography, brought her passion for the medium to the studio. Frame and Flash even offers a Polaroid photo booth, and all backdrops and equipment can be rented and used outside of the studio.

Gray said the studio is evolving into a hub for the local creative community, providing artists of all kinds with the space and resources to bring their visions to life.
