The highly anticipated Copenhagen Cooking & Food Festival 2024 will take place from 16 to 25 August in Denmark’s world-class gastronomy metropolis.

The annual festival celebrates its 20th anniversary and recognizes top chefs who have contributed to Danish gastronomy. At least 80,000 visitors are expected to celebrate and renew Nordic cuisine and exchange national and personal cooking secrets.

Held outdoors in Copenhagen, the best food experts offer special workshops with tastings and events, including long table dinners, show kitchens and food markets. The festival highlights traditions and encourages innovation, so there is something for every taste.

The star of the festival this year is the nutritious and delicious product: cabbage. For nine days, culinary experts will present their favorite recipes with cabbage, from grilled dishes and crisp salads to everything in between. Tastings and workshops invite visitors to discover this vegetable gem and discover new, creative cooking methods.

Each year, the festival chooses a city around the world to discover its authentic local cuisine; in 2024, it is Flanders in northern Belgium. The city is known as Belgium’s beer centre, a top chocolate producer recognised by UNESCO; it is the inventor of pralines; its rich gastronomy is thoroughly examined and celebrated.

The city will also showcase its Flemish concept of ‘goesting’; a yearning for the good things in life; in terms of food, that means Michelin chefs, local produce and homemade dishes prepared with love. Alongside Belgium, Denmark’s Omegn & Venner will showcase high-quality local food and drink, with a focus on climate-conscious eating habits.

From Italian summer food to traditional Polish dishes, the festival invites visitors from all over the world to taste unique dishes, learn how to prepare them and get hold of the highest quality products to make cooking a true cultural and personal pleasure.
