Fun, peaceful and varied event: everyone is welcome, 18 years and younger with parents or guardians
COLONIAL HEIGHTS – Celebrate people and culture of African descent at Africa Fest 2024. The free festival featuring fashion, delicious food, vibrant music, dancing, booths, back-to-school gifts and more is sponsored by the nonprofit organization Unapologetically Black and presented by the Cunningham Foundation. Enjoy a day of family fun on Saturday, August 31 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at White Bank Park.
“Last year we had over 350 people. Everything was great. It was a peaceful, diverse event. Visitors will be exposed to African culture and food. There will be African, Caribbean and soul food vendors and we are still looking for more food and trade vendors,” said LaToya Cunningham, U.S. Air Force veteran and founder of the Cunningham Foundation and Africa Fest.

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian unless they are U.S. service members. Pets are not welcome. Only service animals are permitted at the event.
Attendees are asked to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets, good, positive vibes and peace of mind. Tickets for Africa Fest 2024, which were available through Eventbrite, have sold out, but Cunningham said everyone is still welcome.
