Car crashes into tobacco shop in east Colorado Springs

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KRDO) — Another business is left picking up the pieces after a car crashed into the front of a tobacco store in Colorado Springs early this morning.

This is the latest incident in a series of similar crimes. It is the tenth time in the last five months that thieves have driven their vehicle into the facade of a shop in this area.

Shortly after 3 a.m. on Monday, police responded to a shopping center near the intersection of Galley Road and North Circle Drive and found the door to Speedy’s Smoke Shop smashed.

Similar to an earlier break-in at a gun store in Colorado Springs on August 8, the car was left at the scene with the bumper lying loose nearby.

There is currently no information available about what goods the suspects were able to steal before they fled.

CSPD says information is still limited, but no suspects have been arrested yet. This story is still developing and may be updated as we learn more.
