Gasoline prices are rising across Tennessee, with Williamson County the highest and Rutherford County in the mid-to-high range

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, TN – Average gasoline prices in Tennessee have increased and are currently about 0.4 cents higher than last week. Prices for regular unleaded gasoline averaged $3.02 per gallon across the Volunteer State as of Monday morning, according to AAA – the auto club.

The Auto Club reports that gasoline prices in Rutherford County currently average $3.06 per gallon. North of Murfreesboro in Wilson County, gas prices average $3.02 per gallon, while in Cannon County – east of ‘Boro – they average $3.03 per gallon. South of Rutherford County in nearby Shelbyville, prices average $3.08 per gallon.

The most expensive fuel in Tennessee is just across the county line in Williamson County, where gasoline prices average $3.39 per gallon. Throughout Davidson County, prices for regular unleaded gasoline are $3.12 per gallon, while in the inner Nashville area, prices average $3.11 per gallon.

The national average price of gasoline has fallen 4.2 cents per gallon over the past week, averaging $3.37 per gallon today, according to GasBuddy.com. The national average is down 11.4 cents per gallon from last month, and is 47.8 cents per gallon lower than last year, according to data from GasBuddy, compiled from more than 11 million weekly price reports from over 150,000 gas stations across the country.

DIESEL- The national average price of diesel has dropped 2.6 cents over the past week, to $3.69 per gallon, the lowest in 940 days, according to GasBuddy. In Tennessee, diesel costs an average of $3.49 per gallon, down 0.12 cents from last month.
