Clarksville Community Concert Association announces September 15 performance by pianist Chaeyoung Park – Clarksville Online

Clarksville Living MagazineClarksville, Tennessee: – The Clarksville Community Concert Association has a wonderful 73rd season ahead of it, beginning with a program on Sunday, September 15 at 3:00 p.m. featuring renowned concert pianist Chaeyoung Park.

CCCA President Ann Silverberg said, “We have a season of wonderful music that will be truly diverse and family friendly. The concerts will be on Sunday afternoons and everyone will find something they like. We are already getting calls about this year’s artists.”

Park, this season’s first performer, was most recently heard as a soloist in the Gilmore Rising Stars series, at the Bravo! Vail Music Festival, and at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall. She was the winner of the 2022 Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions and a finalist in the 2023 Arthur Rubinstein International Master Piano Competition.

Park has been praised as a passionate pianist who “plays not a single note without thought or feeling” (New York Concert Review). She covers a wide range of classical music literature, and her programs include works from the early French Baroque of Rameau to Beethoven sonatas to new music by living composers, including South Korean classical composer Unsuk Chin.

“We are very excited to have Chaeyoung Park perform in this year’s CCCA series,” said Silverberg. “She has won awards at major international competitions, and after her performance on Sunday, she will be holding a master class here at APSU on Monday.”

“Our second concert of the season is on November 3rd at 3pm and features one of Ireland’s finest bands, the Paul Brock Band. CCCA Vice President Cody Richardson will be speaking before the concert. She actually studied at the University of Limerick. We also hope to have the band join APSU’s own folk music ensemble.”

“Paul Brock is a master of the button accordion and lives in Athlone, Ireland,” said Richardson. “I first got to know him through his album Green Grass Blue Grass, a combination of traditional Irish sounds and bluegrass. During our concert, the audience can expect traditional music played on the button accordion, fiddle, Irish flute and possibly other instruments. During the pre-concert talk, I look forward to speaking with audience members about their sounds and the role of these instruments in traditional Irish music.”

The Paul Brock Band is a beacon of passion and precision, integrity and diversity. Deeply rooted in Irish musical tradition, they still manage to seamlessly and effortlessly mix and integrate elements from American old-time and bluegrass, French-Canadian and other Celtic traditions to create something accessible, recognizable, beautiful and totally unique. The band and its members have received numerous awards, including “Best Instrumental Band of the Decade” (Irish American News).
