We have a number of food-related festivals here in Iowa, but only one can be called the very best! According to Love FoodThe Iowa Festival is the West Point Sweet Corn Festival!

The West Point Sweet Corn Festival is held annually in Lee County and the 2024 event officially began yesterday, August 8th. It runs through Sunday, August 11th and offers tons of different activities! The program includes:

• FREE hot buttered sweet corn
• Grilled chicken dinner
• A corn-eating competition
• BINGO
• Live entertainment
• A carnival
• A 5k/10k
• A cornhole tournament
• Craft seller
• A parade

On Wednesday, the West Point Sweet Corn Festival hosted its annual “Shuckfest” where volunteers prepared 17 TONS of sweet corn for the 2024 festival! The slogan for 2024 is: “West Point Field of Dreams – If you peel it, they will come!”

Another great food festival taking place this weekend is the St. Jude Sweetcorn Festival in Cedar Rapids!
