Tuath Housing announces first phase of cost-rental housing at Foxwood Barn Citywest

Tuath Housing Association has announced that applications will open this Wednesday 21 August for the first 28 rental homes at Foxwood Barn, a new residential complex near Citywest being built by Glenveagh Homes.

This first phase includes 16 one-bedroom apartments and 12 three-bedroom duplexes. Rents are 1,395 euros and 1,745 euros per month respectively, representing a 30 percent discount compared to the average rent for similar properties in the area.

Tuath Housing, with support from South Dublin County Council, will build a total of 167 energy-efficient, Grade A rental apartments in Foxwood Barn in two phases.

After the first 28, a further 139 rental apartments will be completed by the end of 2025, further expanding this growing community.

Located close to numerous amenities including shopping, restaurants, sports facilities and parks, Foxwood Barn offers an ideal living environment for individuals and families alike.

Funded by the Department for Housing’s Cost Rental Equity Loan Scheme (CREL) and private funding from the Housing Finance Agency, Foxwood Barn’s rental properties are designed to ensure long-term affordability and tenure security.

As part of the “Cost Rents” initiative, rents for the new apartments must be at least 25 percent below the local average rent for similar property types.

Sean O’Connor, CEO of Tuath Housing, highlighted the organisation’s commitment to providing affordable housing:

“At Tuath, we are committed to providing safe, high quality homes at affordable prices for people across Ireland.

“Foxwood Barn is a prime example of our commitment to expanding the rental housing market and ensuring long-term stability and comfort in a supportive community.”

As Ireland’s leading provider of affordable rental housing, Tuath Housing has already delivered over 400 affordable rental homes across counties Dublin, Kildare, Louth and Westmeath.

With over 800 more rental homes planned this year, Tuath remains true to its mission of providing safe, affordable housing across the country.
