Highland Park appoints Kristi McCaulou as new finance director

Kristi McCaulouHighland Park’s deputy finance director, will become the city’s new finance director after longtime director Julie Logan retires in September.

During her seven years as the city’s deputy finance director, McCaulou has distinguished herself as a leader.

“As Deputy Finance Director, Kristi McCaulou has been an important part of the finance team and the city as a whole,” said City Manager Ghida Neukirch. “She has brought critical financial expertise and competent management to a number of complex citywide projects, and she also serves as a dedicated team leader, facilitating the professional development of numerous employees through promotions both within the Finance Department and other city departments. Her professionalism, integrity and commitment to the city’s financial goals make her an excellent addition to Highland Park’s senior human resources team.”

Prior to her tenure in Highland Park, McCaulou served as assistant director of financial services for Round Lake Area Schools (District 116).

Karen Evangelista has been named Community Relations Director of Emerald Place, an Anthem Memory Care community in Glenview.

In this position, Evangelista is responsible for public relations and marketing.

Previously, she was a sales assistant/move-in coordinator for American House in Oak Park and director of social services for Dimensions Living in Prospect Heights.

Evangelista brings more than 11 years of senior living experience to her new role. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in business and economics from North Park University in Chicago.

Schaumburg-based law firm Lavelle Law welcomed Sarah J. Reusché to lead the new trade law practice group.

Reusché, a graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Law with honors, will represent auto and other equipment dealers in a variety of matters affecting their businesses, including franchise relationships, business operations and consumer disputes.

“Dealers are subject to a unique set of operating rules and in a unique business segment,” said Reusché. “Our team will use its expertise and experience to ensure that dealers are protected and well looked after when they become our customers.”

John Daniel Depa was awarded his third Emmy Award, This means he has already won three times before he turns 30.

Depa and his colleagues were honored in the Outstanding Esports Production category at the 45th Annual Sports Emmy Awards for their work on the 2023 League of Legends World Championship finals in Seoul, South Korea.

Depa was recognized for his work as broadcast producer of the event. He already won in the same category in 2019 and 2020 and was additionally nominated in 2021.

Depa grew up in Niles and is a graduate of Maine East High School, where he was heavily involved in the fine arts programs, which he credits with giving him the foundation to successfully launch his television career.
