Universal Pictures’ Twisters topped the list of the 10 most popular movies on Fandango’s digital transaction service Fandango at Home (formerly Vudu) for the week ending August 18.

A belated sequel to 1996 TwistersAvailable for premium digital rental and purchase on August 13, the film follows tornado researcher Kate (Daisy Edgar-Jones), who, after a devastating tornado encounter, gives up chasing storms on the Oklahoma prairie to study them safely on screens in New York City. Lured back into the field by her boyfriend Javi (Anthony Ramos) and a once-in-a-lifetime scientific opportunity, Kate’s path crosses that of Tyler (Glen Powell), a charming daredevil and self-proclaimed tornado tamer whose thirst for tornado-chasing adventures has made him a social media sensation.

The “Twisters” double feature package of the original film landed at number 2 in the charts Twisters And Twisters.

Illuminations fell from first place to third place on the list Despicable Me 4Available for premium digital rental and sale from Universal Pictures Home Entertainment on August 6. The fourth installment in the series follows Gru, Lucy and their girls as they welcome a new member of the family – Gru Jr. – who seeks to torment his father when a new arch-enemy emerges and forces the family to flee. Despicable Me 4 with the voices of Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Sofia Vergara, Joey King, Stephen Colbert and Miranda Cosgrove.

The re-entry at 4th place was Furiosa: A Mad Max Sagawhich is available for digital rental and digital purchase. Director George Miller’s sci-fi action film reveals the previously untold origins of Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy) and her relentless drive to find her way back home. The film also stars Chris Hemsworth.

Paramount Home Entertainment’s fell from second place to fifth place in the charts A quiet place: day one. Available in premium digital sales and rentals July 30, the third installment in actor-director John Krasinski’s sci-fi horror series is a prequel starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o that takes viewers back to the first day of the invasion of deadly creatures that hunt by sound in New York City.
