PS Store adds Steam-like written reviews

PS Store adds Steam-like written reviews

Sony is testing a Steam-like system for written reviews in the PS StoreThe company had previously introduced a five-star rating system, but appears to be refining it to give players a chance to express themselves.

New game tests are being tested in the PS Store for selected titles

Reddit users reported receiving emails asking them to rate select games, including Helldivers 2, Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, and Resident Evil 4. The emails contain a link that takes users to a review form on the PlayStation website.

In true Sony fashion, the emails were also sent to players who purchased the disc versions of the above games, although only those who purchased a digital copy from the PS Store are allowed to leave a review.

Although the system is currently in early testing, the general consensus among gamers is that Sony should display the number of hours a player has played along with their review. There is no shortage of angry trolls online who will review bad games for irrelevant reasons after investing hundreds of hours into them.

However, displaying the number of hours a player has played could prove to be a difficult task for Sony as the PS5’s broken playtime counter has still not been fixed.
