Reported at 10:15 a.m. on August 12: The thief who broke into a 2020 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk in a unknown location managed to steal a Damascus knife, but when he tried to drive away with the vehicle, he apparently failed because of a dead battery.

UNIVERSITY PARK

13 Tuesday

At around 8:06 a.m., officers obtained an arrest warrant against a man on University Boulevard.

A brazen burglar stole over $100 worth of toothpaste from CVS before 11:50 a.m. on Preston Street.

Report at 4:29 p.m.: Two gold coins valued between $2,500 and $30,000 were missing from an online delivery to Stanford Street.

14 Wednesday

Officers filed a report of stalking at around 7:56 a.m. 4100 block of University Boulevard.

A porch pirate stole a Trek bike from a house on Stanford Street around 9:21 a.m.

Officers arrested the driver of a 2011 Mazda CX-7 for drunk driving at around 6:13 p.m. on Hillcrest Road.

15 Thursday

Two bandits stole facial care products from CVS in Snider Plaza.

A sneaky thief broke into a 2016 Chevy Tahoe on The Street of Lovers before 6:56 p.m. and stole a purse, AirPods, credit cards, a duffel bag with clothes, a Filson Camo backpack, a Lenovo ThinkPad computer and charger, and a driver’s license.

How easy was it for a thief to steal a black Glock 42 from a 2023 Audi Q8 on Hanover Street before 11:13 a.m.? The car was unlocked.

Officers conducted a traffic stop and arrested the driver of a Lexus 570 for drunk driving at around 9:39 p.m. on Hillcrest Road.

HIGHLAND PARK

13 Tuesday

Joyriders stole a 2024 Dodge Ram TRX from a driveway in the 3700 block of Mockingbird Lane around 3:38 am

A branch of a Virginia oak tree fell on two poorly parked vehicles, a 2002 Chevy Tahoe and a 2016 Ford F-150, in 4500 block of Armstrong Parkway around 11:25 a.m. and damaged it.

14 Wednesday

A thief suffered a loss after breaking into the Highland Park swimming pool. 3800 block of Lexington Avenue Around 5:30 a.m. He fled, but left behind a bag containing $102, burglary tools and other possibly stolen items, his e-bike and a second bag containing three knives, a leather gun holster, tools, shoes and $96 that may have been stolen from the pool. Other items were left near the front gate.

Report at 15:42: A resident in the 4700 block of St. Johns Drive picked up the iPhone 15 box that had been delivered to her home and found that it had been opened and there was no iPhone 15 inside.

A reckless driver rammed a 2015 Acura TLX in a parking lot in the 4200 block of Mockingbird Lane before 6:15 p.m. and then drove off without leaving a message.

15 Thursday

The officers issued an arrest warrant in 4100 block of Lomo Alto Drive around 2:46 am

The thieves struck twice before 7:30 a.m. in 3300 and 3400 blocks of Dartmouth AvenueThe villain who rifled through a 2022 Porsche Cayenne GTS may have stolen a few checks, and the ne’er-do-well who rifled through the glove compartment of a 2015 Range Rover took a pair of Dior sunglasses.

Officers arrested a man for disturbing the peace at approximately 10:19 a.m. in 3200 block of Drexel Drive.

16 Friday

A man was arrested for breaking into a vehicle around 8 a.m. 4600 block of Abbott Avenue.

A man was arrested for blocking a driveway and on a warrant at around 9:35 p.m. 3100 block of Cornell Avenue.

17 Saturday
A woman was arrested for drunk driving at around 9:54 p.m. 5500 block of Armstrong Parkway.
