Location Buddha’s eyeballs in the Fright Cliff area of the Yellow Wind Ridge is one of the most puzzling challenges you will face in Chapter Two of Black Myth: Wukong. This desolate area filled with living stone enemies is a bit like a maze, so it might take some time to fully explore it and find all six glowing heads, each containing an eyeball.
Then you also have to figure out what to do with them. The item description mentions that they’re probably embedded somewhere, but there’s no indication of what that might be. I’ll list all of the Buddha Eyeball locations below, and explain what you need to do once you’ve collected them all to unlock their secret.
Buddha’s Eyeball Locations
There are six eyeballs that can be found in Fright Cliff and this is made a little easier by the fact that the Buddha heads they hold sing and glow when you’re near them. To get each eyeball, simply interact with the head. Here’s where to find each one:
1. Just after the entrance to Fright Cliff. From the Valley of Despair Keeper’s Shrine, go across the wooden bridge, through the gate guarded by the enemy Spearbone boar, then follow the path to the right where you will find the first head.
2. For the second, head left from the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine up the ravine and through the gate. Continue past the shrine with the crouching statue, then turn left to find a torch-lit altar with a large statue and the Buddha head at its base.
3. For the third option, turn right around the corner from the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine and you’ll immediately see some wooden platforms in the distance. Jump onto the cliffs directly in front of you to get there. A spearbone enemy guards the stairs leading up and there are spitting enemies on the platforms, so be careful. Fight your way up the stairs to the top platform with the two spitting enemies to find the head.
4. The fourth can be found on the opposite side of the valley, but at ground level. From the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine, go right around the cliff and follow the left path next to the Rock Guai enemy. Continue on and turn left again up some rock steps to find the head at the side of the path.
5. The fifth can be found near the Mother of Stones boss. From the Squall Hideout Keeper’s Shrine, go left up the ravine with the spitting enemy, through the gate and past the crouching statue, then bear right into the cave passage with the torches and keep going until you reach a wooden platform with two spitting enemies. Turn left here and go up the path by the three torches. When you enter the boss room, the head is just outside on a ledge through an opening to your right.
6. For the last one, head to the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine and you should be able to see the Buddha head directly in front of you in the distance
How to use Buddha’s eyeballs
Now that you have all six eyeballs, you can plug them into their place. Conveniently, the spot you need them is right next to where you took the sixth one. From the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine, head left to where that head was, then left again into a boss arena. If you haven’t been here yet, you should probably fight the Stone Vanguard boss, as plugging the stones into their place will summon another boss and I can’t vouch for how those two things will interact.
After defeating the Stone Vanguard, you can place the stones in the large stone to the left of the entrance. Normally, interacting with this will allow you to read a text about the eyes, but if you have all six, you can also have them delivered. This will unlock the Shigandang Boss – a multi-headed stone golem similar to the Stone Vanguard. Defeat him and you will receive the Skandha of feelingthe second one you can acquire after the Skandha of Form in Black Wind Mountain.
