Look for these Oreo imitators in your pantry.
The makers of Walmart’s Great Value brand Twist & Shout cookies are recalling certain packages because the cookies may contain foreign material. According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Shearer’s Foods, LLC voluntarily recalled Strawberry Creme Sandwich Cookies after they were found to contain plastic pieces on March 21, 2024.
The recalled cookies, which are Great Value’s private label version of Oreos, were sold in Walmart stores in Oklahoma. This recall affects more than 1,000 packages of cookies – however, only the Strawberry Creme Twist & Shout cookies are affected by the recall. To date, no other Twist & Shout varieties have been reported to contain plastic pieces.

The FDA has yet to report any injuries or illnesses caused by eating the recalled cookies. However, if you have the recalled Strawberry Creme Sandwich Cookies, you should not consume them. Instead, throw them away or take them to your local Walmart store for a refund.
It’s unclear if the cookies are still being sold in Walmart stores in Oklahoma, as the FDA didn’t classify this recall until April 18 — nearly a month after the manufacturer initiated it. So be sure to check the Strawberry Creme Twist & Shout packaging before purchasing the Great Value product, or opt for a different flavor for now.
