GAS Entec and AG&P to build a strategic LNG terminal in the Kingdom of Jordan

The LNG terminal in the port city of Aqaba is of crucial importance for Jordan Energy independence and security

SEOUL, South Korea, 20 August 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Leading LNG infrastructure company GAS Entec with its group company AG&P and local partners Issa Haddadintogether referred to as the Consortium, has been awarded the contract to build the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al Sabah onshore LNG regasification terminal at the Port of Aqaba in the Kingdom of JordanThe contract was awarded to the consortium by the Aqaba Development Corporation (ADC), the state-owned infrastructure company and customer of the plant.

The scope of the project includes the complete engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning (EPCIC) of a 720 mmscfd onshore LNG regasification plant, marine works, jetty works and other associated components. Completion, commissioning and delivery is expected within 22 months.

Widely regarded as the most significant energy project in JordanThe terminal is expected to play a crucial role in improving the national economy, trade and service environment, while Jordan Energy security.

Jordan is heavily dependent on natural gas for its energy and industrial needs, but faces challenges regarding security of supply. The new LNG terminal will Jordan with the flexibility to access LNG from various global suppliers, ensuring a stable and secure energy source.
