Witnesses said the shooting victims were teenagers.

Sunday’s shooting occurred around 10 p.m. right in front of the Old Navy and Palmetto Sun stores.

One of the victims was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, the other two suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The next evening, a Channel 9 crew was in Blakeney at around 8:30pm to speak to customers about safety when teenagers gathered in the car park.

Some seemed to be hanging around, and others were blaring loud, vulgar music while speeding and doing burnouts in the parking lot.

Channel 9’s Jonathan Lowe spoke to Paul Zambrano, who lives nearby.

Zambrano said he was walking his dog the night before when the shooting occurred.

“We saw a lot of teenagers burning tires, luxury cars and big trucks. We were very close to the scene when the kids started running and screaming, ‘Shoot, shoot, shoot,'” he said. “So we were close. The kids had videos on their phones and blood on the ground, but they didn’t find anyone.”

Local resident David Bankole said he was shocked by the shooting.

“I thought it was pretty safe,” Bankhole said. “I was shocked when I heard something happened last night.”

The police have not yet announced any arrests.
