Kappa Sigma receives Pi Sigma Alpha Best Chapter Award – News

Kappa Sigma was one of six honored chapters at colleges with enrollments of 15,000 to 25,000 students. This is the first time Kappa Sigma has received this honor.

These awards are designed to recognize local chapters that are particularly active in their institutions and communities and embody Pi Sigma Alpha’s mission to promote scholarship and intellectual interest in political science. Pi Sigma Alpha Executive Director Dr. Tanya Schwartz said that Kappa Sigma’s “commitment to meaningful engagement over the past year, even in the face of ongoing challenges, has been impressive and serves as a model for all other chapters. I was particularly impressed by the chapter’s support of activities that promote student career development.”

The Best Chapter Award includes a cash prize of $500 for the chapter and an additional $200 for the chapter advisor in recognition of their service and support of the chapter. Pi Sigma Alpha will announce the Best Chapter Award winners on its digital platforms, and they will be featured in a future issue of the American Political Science Association magazine.
