Berlin’s KVU – Church from Below will be closed. The music venue and youth center announced the news on Instagram announced last Friday, August 16, that the lease had been terminated for the second time. “We assume that we still have six months,” the post reads. “We want to hold all the concerts, exhibitions, workshops, readings, etc. that we had planned.” The team also stressed that they wanted to do everything they could to keep the venue open. “We want to do everything we can to ensure that KVU continues to exist,” the post continues. “If you have any ideas on how you can support us, please get in touch.” KVU describes itself as a “cross-generational leisure facility” and is a youth club and event venue on Storkower Strasse. Artists who have recently performed there include Ossia, OJOO GYAL and Migz. KVU is the second Berlin venue to register its closure last week, according to Renate’s statement last Wednesday, August 14. The Friedrichshain-based club said it will likely have to close at the end of 2025 after rent doubled. Read the full post from KVU.
