Police reports: Cars stolen from auto detailing shop in Highland Park and driveways in Winnetka, Kenilworth

The following reports are taken from the most recent police reports from the departments in our jurisdiction (Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Northfield, Kenilworth and Glencoe).

WILMETTE

18.August

• Jewelry was reportedly stolen from a home on Indian Hill Road after someone used a ladder to enter the home through an open second-story window.

• A resident reportedly observed four masked individuals exiting a car and entering an unlocked car parked in the resident’s driveway in the 400 block of Highcrest Drive.

16.August

• Three golf clubs were reportedly stolen from a golf bag at Wilmette Golf Course, 3900 Fairway Drive.

• A resident was reportedly defrauded out of $1,000 when a caller pretending to be from his cell phone provider was given access to the resident’s phone.

14 August

• A purse strap was reportedly stolen from a store in the 1100 block of Central Avenue and one person was arrested for the suspected theft in Chicago.

13 August

• Checks sent through the mail have reportedly been stolen, altered and cashed under a name other than that of the intended recipient.

• Jewelry was reported missing from a home in the 1400 block of Sheridan Road.

• Cash was reported missing from a home in the 1400 block of Wilmette Ave.

WINNETKA

15.August

• An unlocked car was reportedly stolen from a driveway in the 1400 block of Asbury Avenue. Cash, two iPhones, a purse and credit cards were reportedly inside the car. It was later recovered in Highland Park, police said.

GLENCOE

No reports that meet The Record’s publishing standards.

HIGHLAND PARK

13 August

• A car and three additional sets of keys were reportedly stolen from Unlimited Auto Style, 3150 Skokie Valley Road.

12 August

• Two tables were reportedly stolen from City Hall, 1707 St. Johns Ave.

NORTHFIELD

No reports between August 12 and 18 that meet The Record’s publishing standards.

KENILWORTH

13 August

• A car was reportedly stolen overnight from a home in the 300 block of Cumnor Road. The car was later involved in a traffic accident in Chicago at 11 a.m.
