Police are searching for teenagers involved in a botched jewelry store robbery on Detroit’s West Side

DETROIT – Detroit police are searching for two teenagers who broke into a jewelry store and smashed several glass display cases to steal valuable items.

The incident occurred Monday (August 19) in the 21700 block of W. 8 Mile Road.

Officials said the two teens fled the store on foot after the store owner stopped them before they could steal merchandise.

The first teenager is described as a 16-18 year old boy, 5’8″-5’10” tall and 120-130 lbs. He was last seen wearing a black ski mask, blue Nike hoodie, blue pants and red and white Nike shoes, armed with a hammer.

The second teenager is described as a 16-18 year old boy, 5’8″ tall, 120-130 lbs, wearing a grey Nike hoodie, blue jeans and black, white and red Nike sneakers. He is armed with a large wooden stick.
