Billionaire and Tesla founder Elon Musk has filed for enforcement against the actor Gene Wilder‘s former home – after she loaned the “Willa Wonka” star’s nephew millions of dollars to help him purchase the iconic Los Angeles estate.

Musk, 53, was praised for his generosity after it was revealed that he had not only agreed to sell the house to Wilder’s relative, the filmmaker Jordan Walker Pearlmanfor $7 million, but he also agreed to lend him $6.7 million to facilitate the purchase of the property.

However, this fairytale scenario has turned into a nightmare after Walker-Pearlman and his wife, Elisabeth Jaegerfell behind on their loan payments, prompting Musk to file a default notice.

The notice serves as the first step in the foreclosure process and allows Musk to force a sale of the property 90 days after the lawsuit is filed, reported the Wall Street Journal, which covered the litigation.

Walker-Pearlman and Hunter simultaneously listed the property for $12,950,000, describing it as “a piece of Hollywood history” in the Realtor.com® listing.

“Nestled in the exclusive Bel Air neighborhood, this timeless property was designed by the famous architect Robert Byrdoffers unparalleled views of the Bel Air Country Club and exudes a distinctive character that combines classic design with modern potential,” the listing continues.

Certainly, this house has had its fair share of celebrity entanglements.

It was the longtime residence of Wilder, who lived there with his third wife, the “Saturday Night Live” star. Gilda Radneruntil her death in 1989.

The Journal reported that a trust linked to Musk bought the house in 2013 for $6.75 million.

In 2020, the billionaire made the surprising decision to sell “almost all of his material possessions,” including Wilder’s former home.

In a series of tweets on the website he now owns and has renamed “X,” Musk said he planned to “not own a house” before noting that his only “condition” for the mass sell-off was that “Gene Wilder’s old house… cannot be torn down or lose any of its soul.”

In 2022, Walker-Pearlman praised Musk’s generosity in lending him the money, explaining that he had long dreamed of buying the property after spending a lot of time there as a child.

“He could have sold it for so much more,” he told the Journal. “His sensitivity toward me cannot be overstated.”

Although Musk has now taken legal action against Walker-Pearlman and his wife, the filmmaker does not appear to harbor any resentment toward the billionaire businessman.

“This is not a tragedy,” he said, noting that the Hollywood strikes in 2023 have severely impacted their ability to keep up with their loan repayments.

“Elon has given us a magical opportunity. I have no complaints,” he said. “This is probably the conclusion of a very unicorn-like and beautiful chapter of our lives. I’m not upset at all.”

Now another home buyer has the chance to own this “unicorn” property, which offers 2,700 square feet of living space on a 0.78-acre lot.

In addition to four bedrooms, the living area includes a media room, a dining room, a library, a breakfast nook and a sauna.

Outside, there is a picturesque garden and a classic kidney-shaped pool where guests can enjoy the spacious surroundings of the property’s Bel-Air neighborhood.
