Nestlé produces frozen food specifically for people taking Ozempic

For many people taking Ozempic and other GLP-1 drugs (medications used to treat type 2 diabetes and obesity), one of the biggest challenges is deciding what they can and can’t eat. Now, thanks to one of the country’s largest food companies, that decision is about to get a whole lot easier.

Nestlé has announced that it is launching a new line of frozen meals specifically designed for people taking Ozempic and other weight loss medications. The frozen meal collection is called Vital Pursuit and consists of a dozen portion-controlled meals.

“The products are high in protein, are a good source of fiber, contain important nutrients and their portions are tailored to the appetite of weight loss drug users,” says a press release announcing the new product line.

Nestlé also makes well-known frozen food brands like Stouffer’s and DiGiorno, so customers can expect a pretty solid menu of meals at Vital Pursuit. Dishes teased so far include bowls of whole-grain or protein pasta, sandwiches and pizza.

Although Vital Pursuit was only just announced, it may have already attracted some criticism. Celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern revealed to TMZ that “linking a drug like Ozempic to a food line is about as crazy as it gets.”

Vital Pursuit has also received mixed reactions online. One user on X said it was just another way to serve customers “even more pseudo-food garbage from corporations.”

“Such a typical corporate/American response to the problem of overeating. Instead of simply eating less (and saving money), we should use drugs for a purpose they were not actually intended for so we can eat more corporate pseudo-junk,” they write. wrote.
