The City of New York has launched a housing lottery for 37 units in a 21-story residential building at 45-17 Davis Street in the Court Square neighborhood of Long Island City.

The building has 82 apartments, 45 of which are market-rate apartments, while the remaining 37 units are reserved for people earning 130% of the area median income.

Eight of the reserved units are studios with a monthly rent of $3,088. They are intended for households of up to two people whose combined annual income is between $105,875 and $161,590.

Ten other units from the housing lottery are one-bedroom apartments with a monthly rent of $3,298. Households of up to three people can live there. The residents of these units must have an annual income of $113,075 to $181,740.

The last 19 units in the lottery are two-bedroom units. The monthly rent for them is $3,939. Up to five people who together earn $135,052 to $218,010 a year can live in these units.

Resident amenities include high-end kitchen appliances, countertops and finishes, energy-efficient appliances, air conditioning, washers, dryers and dishwashers, smart controls for heating and cooling, hardwood floors, charging outlets with USB ports, high-speed internet and cable or satellite TV in the units. There are also garages, covered parking, bike storage, electric car charging stations, package lockers, an intercom system, security cameras, handicap accessible entrance and an elevator.

The building will also feature a gymnasium, recreation room, outdoor patio, rooftop deck and outdoor recreation area. Residents will have online options for renting, paying rent and submitting maintenance requests. The building is smoke-free and several pets are welcome. Bus stops and other public transportation are within walking distance of the building. Tenants are responsible for electricity, including heat and electric stoves.

Those interested in applying for the units at 45-17 Davis St. must meet housing and income size requirements. New York City residents will be given preference in selecting units. Applications must be postmarked or submitted online by October 4. Qualified applicants must also meet additional eligibility criteria.
