CHARLOTTE, NC (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Police said a woman found dead in a Charlotte gas station bathroom Saturday night was bludgeoned to death with a hammer.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, officers responded to the QuikTrip on Trailer Drive in northeast Charlotte at 11:15 p.m. on August 17. The victim, a 47-year-old Glandina Latamba Dixon was declared dead on site by a paramedic.
Police reports indicate that someone called 911 from the QuikTrip restroom and said she was bleeding from the back of her head and there was blood on the floor. Dixon was pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m. from blunt force trauma.
Officials said surveillance video from the gas station showed a black man getting out of a black Ford pickup truck and following the woman into the store. He then returned to his truck to get what appeared to be a hammer, the filing said. When he entered the store, he went straight to the women’s restroom, according to the documents.
