Cornucopia Natural Foods will open a new location in the growing Station Yards mixed-use complex in Ronkonkoma.

The organic food market has leased a 70,000-square-foot space in Station Yards, and construction on the store is scheduled to begin this fall, according to developer Tritec Real Estate.

This will be the second location for Cornucopia, which has had a store in Sayville since 1976. The natural food retailer also offers a menu of sandwiches, salads, smoothies and more.

“I started at Cornucopia in 2006 as a dishwasher and will purchase the company in 2023. My goal has always been to grow the company and better serve the community,” Cornucopia owner Drew Alexander said in the statement. “We want to provide the healthiest and most environmentally friendly options for our customers while creating the best workplace for our employees. The move to Station Yards will help us be even more environmentally conscious and expand our reach and charitable efforts.”

Allen Boulos and Scott Schneider of Evernest Realty represented Cornucopia, while Maria Valanzano, Steve D’Orazio and Jake Horowitz of Colliers represented landlord Tritec in the lease transaction.

“Cornucopia will provide a fantastic, healthy one-stop shop for your healthy food needs in Station Yards,” Valanzano said in the statement. “It will be extremely beneficial for residents and the local community to have access to a healthy food market on their doorstep. Train passengers will also be able to enjoy the convenience of stopping by for a snack or beverage before their journey.”

Boulos said his company is pleased to have secured the tenant for the mixed-use building.

“Cornucopia will provide the community with high-quality and sustainable food options, further enhancing the convenience and lifestyle offerings for Tritec residents and visitors and making it an exciting addition to the diverse tenant mix,” he said.

Once completed, Station Yards will transform a 53-acre site surrounding the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station, creating 1,450 apartments, 360,000 square feet of office space and 195,000 square feet of retail space, mostly centered around a 10,000-square-foot village green.

Cornucopia is the latest addition to the growing list of restaurant and retail tenants in the sprawling Ronkonkoma complex.

“We are excited to welcome Cornucopia Natural Foods to Station Yards,” said Jimmy Coughlan, executive vice president at Tritec, in the statement. “Their commitment to quality and community aligns perfectly with our vision for this development. We are confident that Cornucopia will be a tremendous asset to the residents and visitors of Station Yards.”
