Alvin Taylor II steals ,953 worth of electronics with the help of a Walmart employee – Scoop: Nashville

Alvin Taylor II, 43, stole merchandise from the Walmart on Hamilton Church Road multiple times between July 7 and August 19 with the help of employee Jazmine Reed. On August 20, an employee with Walmart’s asset protection team called 911. The employee said Jackson admitted to stealing $5,953 worth of merchandise, including three PlayStation 5s, five MacBook laptops, an iPad and four Apple Series 9 Watches. When officers arrived, the asset protection employee handed them a handwritten list with the value of each stolen item and told them Walmart planned to press charges. Citing his Miranda rights, Taylor II refused to speak to police or answer their questions. Officers then observed still images showing Taylor II with the alleged merchandise in question before walking past the outlets on July 7, August 12, August 15 and August 19.

At the scene, officers questioned Reed, who stated under Miranda law that Taylor II approached her about a month ago. Reed said Taylor II asked her to give him electronic devices that she had the key to. She then said Taylor II told her he wanted to pay for the electronic devices in advance at another cash register. Reed added she complied with Taylor II’s requests but became skeptical after he asked her several times. Reed stated she did not know he was stealing the merchandise when she gave it to him. However, Taylor II told officers she knew he did not pay for the electronic devices. Taylor II was then taken into custody on August 21 for theft.
