Nurse and mother missing in Virginia since July 31 – NBC4 Washington

As the search for a missing Manassas Park mother intensifies, police executed a search warrant for her home Wednesday evening and are expected to hold a press conference at 9:30 p.m.

A heavy police presence surrounded the house of 28-year-old Mamta Kafle Bhatt, who has been missing for three weeks. Her baby daughter turned one on Tuesday without her mother present.

The search of Bhatt’s home could be a significant development. Forensic investigators from the Prince William County Police Department were present during the search and apparently lent their skills to the Manassas Park Police Department, who are the lead investigators in the case.

Her friends and colleagues said they were extremely worried about her.

Bhatt’s daughter’s first birthday has passed and her friends see this as an opportunity to reignite interest in her disappearance. Some of them met with the police chief on Monday and said the disappearance was highly out of character for them.

Bhatt’s friends and colleagues searched for her twice in a park near her house, but there was no trace of her.

Bhatt, a pediatric nurse at UVA Prince William Medical Center, was last seen at home on July 31, police said.

Mamta Kafle Bhaat has been missing for 16 days. The search for the pediatric nurse and her mother is intensifying. Now the police have published a timeline showing when she was last seen. Derrick Ward from News4 reports.

On August 2, officers went to the home to check on her welfare and spoke with her husband, who gave them additional information at the time and said he did not want to report her missing. However, three days later, he contacted police and reported her missing.

Bhatt’s husband spoke briefly to News4 last week and said he was busy looking after their child but his wife had to stay at home.

On Wednesday evening, forensic investigators visited the family’s home on a cul-de-sac and took photographs of what was believed to be the master bedroom on the second floor.

Manassas Park Police reported her as involuntarily missing because a check of her credit cards, bank statements and phone showed no activity in the days following her disappearance.
