Join the Glen Ellyn Park District and Charlie’s Corner Foundation for a magical evening at the Glow in the Park Lantern Walk on Sunday, September 15, from 5-8 p.m. at Lake Ellyn Park, 645 Lenox Road, Glen Ellyn.
This community event promises a night of fun, entertainment, and a lighted walk around the lake – all in support of Lurie Children’s Hospital’s NICU.
Start the evening with live music from Tres Moustache and enjoy face painting, a balloon artist, a bubble show, lawn games, and an inflatable obstacle course and slide.
Thanks to the League of Enchantment, children and families can also meet their favorite superheroes and princesses.
At 7:15 p.m. you can join or participate in the walk around the lake with illuminated paper lanterns. The Glenbard West brass band will kick things off.
You can decorate a lantern on site for $10 (while supplies last) or bring your own already decorated lantern to participate in the walk.
Refreshments can be purchased throughout the evening at Heavenly Hot Dogs and Kona Ice.
This event is free and open to the public. Admission is free, but we ask that monetary donations be made to Lurie Children’s Hospital to support the hospital’s ongoing efforts.
Those who want to get in on the fun early can pre-order lantern kits (including paper lantern shade, LED light and carrying pole) online at gepark.org/register for $10 each.
The kits can be picked up at the Main Street Recreation Center until Friday, September 13th at 5:00 p.m. Proceeds from the kit sale will benefit Lurie Children’s.
Join us for this enchanting evening that combines community spirit, family fun and support for a great cause. All ages are welcome. For more information, visit gepark.org/glow.
