Hive Java Lounge opens a second location in the Lower Valley

An east El Paso cafe plans to open its second location this fall in a new Lower Valley shopping center.

Hive Java Lounge, an El Paso-based cafe with a location on the east side, will open its second location this fall in a new shopping center currently under construction at 8100 North Loop Drive in the city’s Lower Valley.

Owner Zoraida “Zoe” Dobard said she hopes to open the new location in two to three months.

“Opening a second Hive Java Lounge in my old neighborhood is like bringing a piece of my journey home with me. I am deeply touched by the support of the community that has made me who I am, and I am excited to give back by creating a place for neighbors to socialize and have fun,” said Dobard. “We can’t wait to serve you all with the same warmth and passion that defines The Hive.”

Hive’s menu includes a reliable selection of coffee favorites with some unique offerings, such as Mazapan Frappe, Chemex Pour Over, Wildberry Hibiscus Iced Tea and Turmeric Ginger Chai Latte.

The breakfast and lunch menu includes the signature smoked turkey and apple cheddar sandwich, as well as a sweet Belgian waffle, a chipotle ham and cheddar sandwich and mini macarons.

The Hive opened its first location at 1505 George Dieter Drive in 2017.
