Nordstrom Rack expands presence with new store in San Antonio

Nordstrom Rack, an off-price retail division of Nordstrom, plans to open the doors of its new location in far northwest San Antonio on Sept. 5, according to a company press release. The grand opening, which begins at 9 a.m., will feature light snacks, gift certificates and beauty promotions.

The 25,000 square foot location is located at 11411 Bandera Rd., San Antonio, TX 78250, in Bandera Pointe, a popular Bexar County shopping center that is home to Lowe’s, Target, TJ Maxx, Ross, Ulta Beauty and Old Navy. The shopping center is located just off Loop 1604 and across Bandera Road from the giant HEB plus! The previous retailer that housed the location was Barnes & Noble until it closed last year.

The off-price department offers customers a wide selection of trendy clothing, accessories and shoes with daily savings of up to 70 percent off regular prices, according to Nordstrom Rack. The Rack carries merchandise from Nordstrom stores and Nordstrom.com, as well as custom-made items from many of the top brands sold at Nordstrom.

According to the company, the rack is Nordstrom’s primary source of new customers and serves as an ideal entry point for new customers who may have never shopped at one of Nordstrom’s full-line stores before.

Nordstrom Rack operates 247 stores in the United States and Canada. In addition to the San Antonio location, the company opened Nordstrom Rack stores in Denton and Allen last fall. In San Antonio, the only Nordstrom location is in La Cantera, while there are three Rack stores in the city. The Bandera Pointe location will be the company’s fourth Rack store and fifth location.
