Ollie Write continues to be one of England’s greatest showmen, rising beyond the synthwave scene into the wider world of electronic pop, with a sound that ranges from synths to alt-pop to lush art-rock. The FM-84 collaborator has embarked on a successful solo career and with the recent announcement of a new album The pressure point comes a very welcome North American tour — described by Wride as “my biggest tour yet” — which ends at the Brighton Music Hall in Allston on February 20. With FM-84, Wride wrote some of the most famous synthwave tracks, such as “Running in The Night,” and his debut solo album Thanks in advance landed in Billboard’s Top 10 Electronic Charts and reached number one on iTunes’ Electronic Charts.
